German Ambassador in Singapore taking the lead in Energy Conservation.

Situated in the midst of a lush tropical setting in Singapore’s prime residential district is the German Residence, a mid-century double storey bungalow that serves as the home to past and present Ambassadors of Germany to Singapore.

It is also the location of an Energy Saving project, spearhead by Siemens and OSRAM, to showcase what OSRAM Energy-Saving Lamps and Lighting Gears can do to save Energy and to enhance the living space of the Residence.
Based on the normal lighting consumption before the project, the Residence was consuming a total of 7961Watt of electricity per hour. After switching over to Energy-Saving Lamps and Gears, the Residence only need 2661Watt of electricity per hour. These changes added up to a total saving of 5300Watt of electricity per hour, which work out to a saving of 66.6% per hour.
Estimated saving per month is about $129.05.
